The ‘Fair Trade’ concept was
developed to counteract the effects of free world trade such as unsustainable
prices being paid for goods and services. Through ‘Fair Trade’ workers
receive fair pay and fair working conditions.
There must be regular work and
child labour is prohibited.
Sweat shop free’
manufacturing also reflects the principles of fair trade. As consumers increase the demand for fair
trade and sweat shop free items whole communities as well as individuals can be
independent, healthy and empowered.
